1. ATTITUDE
a. believe in God Almighty and be able to show religious attitude
b. uphold humanity values in carrying out duty based on religion, morals, and ethics;
c. contribute to improving the quality of life in the community and nation, and to the
progress of civilization based on Pancasila;
d. act as citizens who are proud and love the country, have nationalism and a sense of
responsibility to the state and nation; e. respect the diversity of cultures, views, religions, and beliefs, as well as the opinions or
original findings of others;
f. work together and have social sensitivity and concern for society and the environment;
g. obey the law and self-control in community and state life;
h. internalize academic values, norms, and ethics;
i. show an attitude of responsibility for work in his area of expertise independently;
j. internalize the spirit of independence, struggle, and entrepreneurship; and
k. internalizing values of biodiversity in the working environment.
2. KNOWLEDGE 1) Master on Biological theories in depth related to structure, functions, biodiversity,
reproduction, evolution, and biological system engineering;
2) Master on the concepts of mathematics, biostatistics, biophysics, Organic Chemistry, and
Biochemistry in general;
3) Master on principle and application of biotechnology in foods, health, environment, and
biological resources;
4) Master on principle of use of software to analyze biological resources within their work area;
5) Master on concepts, principle, measurement techniques, analysis, and synthesis to solve
problems of utilization and management of biological resources;
6) Master on the latest factual knowledge of technology on measurement techniques, analysis,
synthesis, and biotechnology of biological resources; and
7) Master of the concept of academic integrity in general and the concept of plagiarism in
particular, in terms of types of plagiarism, consequences of violations, and prevention efforts.
In order to achieve above mentioned PEO effectively, the PEO values are elaborated into more specific attainable outcomes in Program Learning Outcomes (PLO). The PLO contains the details of expected Skills (S), Knowledge (K) and Competency (C) of each students and graduates in Faculty of Biology. After completing this program, the graduate will be able to:
1. have an ability to apply what they have learned in Biology. (K, S)
2. demonstrate skills and knowledge of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in Tropical Biology. (S)
3. demonstrate skills and knowledge of Functional Biology in Tropical Biology. (S)
4. demonstrate skills and knowledge of Environmental Biology and Biodiversity in Tropical Biology. (S)
5. design and to conduct biological research both individually or in a team, and then to analyze as well as to interpret the data and to form conclusions based on it. (S, C)
6. identify problems including safety and environmental issues related to Tropical Biology and to develop scientifically sound solutions to them. (C)
7. recognize the importance of professional and ethical responsibility, and a commitment to apply these ethical principles in their research or daily conduct. (K)
8. communicate and express a fundamental scientific opinion effectively, in both oral and written formats. (S)
9. acquire an appreciation for self-improvement and long-life learning, and ability to identify avenues for improvement. (C)
