Dean’s Remarks

All praise and gratitude are due to Allah SWT for His blessings and grace, through which the Professional Study Program in Biodiversity Curation (PKKH) at the Faculty of Biology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, has been officially established. The initiation of this program represents the Faculty’s commitment and contribution to the preservation and sustainable management of Indonesia’s extraordinary megabiodiversity.

The PKKH Program is designed to produce graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills in curatorial planning, collection acquisition and documentation, collection analysis, and the maintenance of Indonesia’s tropical biodiversity specimens. Through the implementation of a curriculum developed based on this academic manuscript and aligned with the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) Level 7, graduates of the PKKH Program are expected to actively contribute to the conservation, management, and utilization of Indonesia’s biological wealth for the advancement of science and the benefit of society at both national and global levels.

My deepest gratitude and appreciation go to all members of the team who have worked with dedication and perseverance in bringing this program to fruition. It is our sincere hope that the Professional Study Program in Biodiversity Curation will become one of the driving forces in enhancing academic excellence and strengthening the Faculty of Biology’s contributions within Indonesia and across the world.

Prof. Dr. Budi S. Daryono, M.Agr.Sc.
Dean, Faculty of Biology
