Biology Orchid Study Club or BiOSC is a study group at the Faculty of Biology UGM. This group focuses on studying orchids and was officially established on 1 February 2006 with supervisor Prof. Dr. Endang Semiarti, M.S., M.Sc. BiOSC is divided into three scientific divisions which are cultivation, research, and conservation divisions. BiOSC has a vision to make BiOSC as one of center of preservation and development of orchids in Indonesia through student and community activities, and has a mission to develop knowledge and research in orchid field, preserve Indonesian natural and hybrid orchids, as well as to develop an entrepreneurial spirit in the field of orchids.
