Marine Study Group is one of the study groups within the Faculty of Biology UGM. The establishment of this group began with the formation of the Marine Study Forum in 2000 by biology students who had an interest and concern for the sea. On 19 September 2000, this study group was officially established under the name Marine Biology Study Group UGM. At the II Meeting on 19 September 2001, this study group changed its name to the Marine Study Group, Faculty of BIology UGM. This change is related to the object of the study which is the marine which include coastal areas and the sea.
