Herpetology Study Group is a scientific organization at Faculty of Biology Universitas Gadjah Mada which was established on 24 February 1992. This study group focused on amphibia and reptilia (herpetofauna). Herpetology is a branch of zoology that studies herpetofauna. In studying herpetofauna, this study group focused on its conservation. Apart from that, this study group also educates the community, its members, and conducts research on herpetofauna. This study group has a vision “the development of scientific knowledge and the preservation of reptiles and amphibians for the people of Indonesia”. Meanwhile, this group missions are developing the science of reptiles and amphibians, and preserving reptiles and amphibians especially in Indonesia.
